Eye Care Professionals Computer Upgrade

Eye Care Professionals is in the process of upgrading their computer system to better serve its patients.

ECP was the first optometric practices in WNY to computerize with a system that tied all offices together. With continued growth ECP has reached the limitations of its current system and needed a system that not could only handle the volume, but improve patient care.

The new system is a federally certified medical record system designed to record the entire exam. It is seamless in transferring information to the optical and other area which reduces the chances of transferring errors.

Besides investing in new software, ECP has upgraded its servers and installed touch screen computers or tablets in each exam room.

The trend is to standardize healthcare data for transportability and improved care.

There are several new procedures and questions you may be asked that our system and insurers require. Beside age, height, weight and blood pressure will be recorded. As healthcare providers, we are concerned about cardiovascular and diabetic risk factors.

Change is sometimes difficult and time consuming. It will take our staff a few weeks to improve efficiency with our new system. We will try to make our transition as smooth as possible. Please bear with us as we move ahead in this new era of computerized medical records.
